Why an assessment of your home and energy systems?

A Mass Save Home Energy Assessment (HEA) can help with all those. And it’s no-cost!

Virtual! Due to COVID-19, Mass Save is offering Virtual Home Energy Assessments. You can check your eligibility here and click the Deeper Dive tab for more info.

Rebates! It will also qualify you for incentives including air-sealing; rebates off up to $2,750 on qualifying energy-efficient equipment upgrades; no-cost LED light bulbs; showerheads and power strips (sent to your home) if the assessment identifies those; and a 0% loan program for financing HVAC and energy efficiency measures. Best of all, the cost of approved insulation and other weatherization will be 75% covered by Mass Save.

If you had an assessment in the last two years and already have a Mass Save insulation recommendation, you can still qualify for the 75% incentive! Check with the company who did that assessment to check if you qualify, and if you do, the 100% incentive will be applied to the existing assessment.

A MassSave Home Energy Assessment is the first step and will give you a good idea of the energy efficiency of your home currently and help guide you in deciding on actions you can take. You have to actually take action on the recommended measures to reduce the carbon footprint of your home. Steps to Take

Virtual assessments (during COVID):

Sign up for a no-cost virtual home energy assessment or call 1-866-527-SAVE (7283) to schedule your VIRTUAL Home Energy Assessment with a Mass Save Energy Specialist. Have your electric and natural gas bill account number ready.
You will be asked to provide specific photos or pieces of information shortly before the virtual home energy assessment.
During the virtual home energy assessment, you will likely be asked to show the heating and cooling systems, the attic, exterior walls and basement to determine if any areas need insulation, lights and thermostats.
At the end of the virtual home energy assessment, you will receive recommended actions for property improvements.
You will then schedule a tentative date for any recommended insulation and air sealing. These in-home improvements will only be completed upon your approval and once the state, the Mass Save program, and the vendor are confident that they can do the work safely.
Receive recommended no-cost energy saving products that will instantly save you money (including LED light bulbs, smart thermostats and smart powerstrips), shipped directly to your door for you to install.
Access generous Mass Save rebates and incentives to make recommended long-term energy-saving upgrades to your home.

Why is it no-cost to me? As a National Grid or Eversource customer, you have already been paying into this program through your utility bill, so it’s worthwhile to take advantage of it.
